Christmas Projects!

So I just quickly made a few wall hanging projects with Heritage Makers for our home. I'm greatful that We've been teaching the 2 & 3 year old Sunday School class at church. The curriculum "Show Me Jesus" from R. C. Sproul went through the Christmas Story a while back. What an inspirational for my two projects! Thought I'd show you the photos and I'll post again with the final result. Sorry they aren't the best photos. If anyone would like me to send them the template just let me know :-)

The First Project is a poster. Super inexpensive but very meaningful!

This second project is a series of three 12x12 scrap pages that I will be mounting on foam board, adding ribbon and hanging from a curtain rod. I will hang these by our stockings in the foyer, a reminder of the greatest GIFT of all!

This last project is one 12x12 page sectioned off into 4 parts. I will cut it up and mount them on tiles, and hang them with ribbon in our dining room.

I'd love to see everyones decorations for this season! You guys inspire me!

Another New Project:

I'm sick today. So John is home watching the boys and providing a way for me to rest. (My hero!) Seeing as how I have had a little time on my hands,  I took on my next 11x14 poster.

I made another 11x14 poster for $4.95. The heart behind this poster began when I made my Treasure Valley Family Signing Poster. Brennan fell in love with it. He loved it! What he loved the most was seeing photos of those he loved. He would stand beneath it forever if you let him saying, "Daddy!", "Mumma!", "Brother!" It was then that I realized that I hadn't really placed a lot of photos in his room yet though I sent a ton of photos to hang over his crib in Ethiopia.

So I wanted to make a poster of all our family photos for him to look at when he wakes up or before he goes to bed.

I took this template of an 8x8 book and added it to my collection.

Then I started a new black project of an 11x14 poster. Once it was open to edit I went to the my projects tab in the editor and opened this template. Now the clip art of this entire project was at my disposal. I quickly picked the photo of Africa and put it on my poster. Since the clip art was full of this ladies photos I simply filled it with black, collaged our photos around it, added text and VOILA! Finis!

Super simple and I think it will be a super blessing to Brennan. The final product will look something like this:

I'll post again with the finished product once it comes in!

New project!

I'm super excited about my latest project!

It's a 11x14 poster made altered from the below template.

It was great how it all came together. Braydon had just finished his last soccer game and I wanted to proudly display his photos but also have a reminder of one of the big lessons we shared with him through out the soccer season. I also just found 11x14 frames for 50% off at Hobby Lobby! (Oh and heres a hint if you go to HobbyLobby.com and register your email address they send you a 40% off coupon every other week!! WHOO HOO)

I'll post again with the finished product once it comes in!

Latest Project!

I was recently inspired by Ms. Heidis Video (click here if you missed it) and have been doing a few fun, creative, and inexpensive projects. It's brought me moments of sanity during the boys sickness and rather whiny moods.

This project was SUPER easy. I made two 8x8 canvas prints from a template (I seriously just added my photo). Then I purchased ribbon 50% off at Hobby Lobby

Then we measured out 4 inches...

And stapled...

And Voila! It's beautiful.

I almost woke the boys up from their nap to see what they though! They love photos of the family on the wall. Teshome in particular. He can point to the photos all day long asking, "Who's that?" He knows the answer, yet he just loves to hear me say "Mumma", "Daddy", "Brother". I think it's one of his favorite games! Mine too!

Also if anyone is at a loss for words, verses, sayings, or ideas to put on your canvas's, photos, cards, etc. I love these books! We use them for the boys circle time and I've found them invaluable!

Another reason why I respect Heritage Makers!!!

“Best of Heritage” is one of the awards given at the HM annual conference. This project is about a family and their precious baby, who had a birth defect that would not allow him to live very long. Heritage Makers has partnered with an organization called “Now I Lay Me Down to Sleep” that consists of over 7000 photographers that volunteer their time to visit during the precious time after these infants are born. They photograph the endearing moments that Mom, Dad, siblings and family members spend with their little one.

I of course signed up to volunteer my time. As a Heritage Makers partnering with NILMDTS, I donate a book featuring the above mentioned free photos to each family that the photographers serve. As a consultant, I volunteer to help these families design their books. Heritage Makers offers a wonderful product and process, and for me, a consultant, a wonderful opportunity to do what I love and help others.

The other day I was contacted with my first family. It's been an honor to share with them their free gift. Thank you Heritage Makers!

Quick Project

Inspired by Ms. Heidi's Home Decore I jumped on the computer and made this darling 8x8 wrapped canvas! I plan to use ribbons and hang it in our downstairs bathroom. I love this template (also Ms. Heidi's) It was orignially Ms. Heidi's Mothers Day Canvas (ID 30353) and it looked like this:

I quickly changed the photo, color back ground, and name plate. Voila! I have my canvas! Thank you Heritage Makers!

Latest Project!

Well I know this isn't the best photo (I'm still in process on this project) but I wanted to share. :-) I've recently been wanting to not only memorize more Bible Verses but to pray more over our family! So I started this wire bound book where I am putting meaningful verses together to both memorize and pray. If you have any verses that have been particularly meaningful to you and your family, oh please do send them my way. Also if you want me to send you this template after I finish (so you can add your own photos and just glean from my collection of verses) just let me know I'd be happy to share it with you! This was a recipe book Template that I quickly altered to suit my purposes! I love templates! I just noticed that I have a pretty long & Unoriginal Title there :-) Any suggestions on a better Title?

Latest News and Projects!

I just wanted to share some of my latest projects!

This first project came out of a need for something to help with our boys bedtime routine. We have the Susan Hunts book with the young childrens' Westminster Catechism questions in it. But we kept having to flip through chapters to get to all the questions. So, I just put the questions in a flip book so we can ask them without all the chapter drama! Very cool. I kept it very basic, for practicality reasons.

This Second Project is a 11x14 poster to go on our wall to help with morning devotions (more for my benefit at this point in time really). I'll have to put a photo once it arrives!

Here's a photo of my son playing with the family "Go Fish" or as I called it "Batter Batter Swing" card game I made with Heritage Makers!

How are your projects coming along?

The Fathers Day Card I made through Heritage Makers for the Daddies in our lives!!

Latest Project for Braydon's Birthday!

Braydo's Birthday Game! Instead of "Go Fish" I'm keeping with the baseball theme for his birthday and using Heritage Makers to make a Birthday Card Game like Go Fish! Family Members will have their own baseball card to match!

Our Family Year Books!

Whoo Hoo! So I finally got our 2008 & 2009 Family yearbooks completed! I have to say I was so concerned that here I was in my 4th year of marriage and I felt so behind. I didn't even know if it was worth trying to do! Heritage Makers made is so easy! I picked a Simple Simon template, added photos and Voila!! I have our family year books! I know these will be treasures for us! I have already been blessed! As I put in each photo I was just reminded of all the blessings & good times!

My latest Heritage Makers Projects!

This turned out better than I could have imagined! This 20x8 Gallery Wrapped Canvas is DARLING! I'm so excited to put it up in the dining room! The quote is from a missionary named Samuel Worcester and reads, "Let us be incited, seriously and earnestly to bring up our children in the nurture and admonition of the LORD."

This is the memory aid (flash card syle) I made through Heritage Makers for circle time! It's the LORD's Prayer with the Westministery childrens catechims questions/answers on the back! I'm excited about this one because it can be used on so many levels!

A few recent projects...

I've been having a great time working on a few projects lately! I thought I'd share them with you!

It seems like it's a busy season where a sending a card is definitely in order! However, since it's been super rainy my husband has needed to take the car to work (as opposed to his motorcycle) so I've been stuck at home. NO WORRIES! I had a few card credits in my Heritage Makers account. I just have to mention here that they were free credits from being a workshop attendee! Super Great Deal! Even if I hadn't had free credits the Heritage Makers Cards are cheaper than most cards I can find in the store AND I don't spend gas or valuable energy trying to wrangle up two toddlers to go shopping and to the post office!

During the boys nap I was able to design personalized cards and mail them off all in the comfort of my own living room! I quickly designed the cards cover, put in photos of our boys, typed in a text and mailed the card directly to the recipients home! All in moments! It was AWESOME! Of course it could have been even faster if I used a template but I was feeling particularly right brained that day!

So here's a few I designed:

This is a Belated Wedding Card. Better late than never right?

A co-worker with my husband found out she was pregnant with twins. One Boy and One Girl! So this was her card!

A sweet friend of mine was graduating from High School. She is the epitome of sweetness so I enjoyed making this card for her.

This one is super unique. My brother graduated from College and my mom wanted something she could send in an email. So I whipped this up for her and then took a photo of it on my trusty mac. I was able to attach the photo for her in an email and she was able to then use the photo in gmail to send out to everyone!! She seemed pleased with it.

These are memory cards to help my son (when he gets just a bit older) to memorize the LORD'S Prayer. I used the Westminister Catechism Q&A on the back. I was quite pleased with it.

So there you have it. Just a few things I designed lately! How's your publishing going?

My New Board Book Came in!!

Well If you haven't heard already I listened to this AMAZING SERMON by Dr. John Piper on Loving People who are different. Dr John Piper has an adopted daughter and they are a multi racial family so he's thought through this issue. :-) Anyway I was so inspired by this and tried to think of a way to practically and intentionally share this with my sons every day. Heritage Makers to the rescue again! After gaining copyright permission I made a board book from the points of Dr. Pipers sermon. My sons love it!

Becoming A Consultant

Recently I've had a couple of people ask about becoming Heritage Makers Consultants. I've also been stuck in bed with a pretty nasty bacterial infection. So I took the opportunity to make the following video. Of course I'd love to talk personally to anyone wanting to become a consultant... but this gives you a beginning idea of how to get started.

My New Board Book!

So the good news is I'm getting time to work on a children's book for the boys. The bad news is this time has only been etched out because I was sick in bed with the flu. Kudos to my AMAZING husband who I heard playing with the boys making Braydo toddler giggle. And Kudos to my boys who didn't give Daddy a hard time. In fact Braydo gave me his favorite blanket to help me feel better!

But back to the book, I was hoping to get some feed back from you guys about this book. It's roughly based off of a sermon by John Piper about Helping Children Love Different People Around the time I first listened to this sermon, Heritage Makers came out with their board book! I became super excited and got it in my head that I would make a board book on this sermon to help the boys. To my great surprise when I called Desiring God they were fine with it and said just to give Piper the copy right credit! KUDOS TO YOU TOO Pastor John Piper!!!
